WHAT: Safe Havens Law. An alternative to unsafe child abandonment. This option is for mothers that have given birth to a baby 3 days old or younger, and it allows them to drop off their unharmed infant in a hospital or fire department with a medical worker, or another emergency service organization, or a peace officer at a law enforcement agency. This option comes with no legal penalties and is completely confidential.

WHAT: Did you know that your lifetime risk of death from an osteoporotic fracture is equal to your lifetime risk of death from breast cancer? The Osteoporosis Walk Foundation of Northeast Ohio wants to remind you to talk about your risk of Osteoporosis with your doctor and what you can be doing to prevent this disease from affecting your life. Today, there is a painless x-ray test that can be performed called a dexa or bone density test. This measures the strength of bone and is the most precise way to measure a person with risk of a fracture.
