SZEKELY GULYAS
(Hungarian Goulash) (Grace Andrassy)

Ingredients:
2 lbs. lean pork or veal cubes
|
1 onion, chopped
|
Shortening
|
1 quart sauerkraut
|
1 tablespoon paprika
|
1 teaspoon salt
|
1/2 can tomato soup
|
1 to 2 cups water
|
1/2 pint sour cream
|
2 tablespoons flour
|
Cooked noodles
|
|
Directions:
Saute onion in shortening until golden. Add meat and brown cubes on all sides. Sprinkle paprika, salt and flour over meat. Add water slowly to cover meat;. mix well. Cook about one hour over low heat. Add undrained sauerkraut and stir in tomato soup. Simmer another 30 minutes. Stir in sour cream before serving. Serve over cooked noodles. Serves 8
