Potica Cake & Oven Baxed Flancate - Alice Kuhar's Recipes

3/4 cup butter, room temperature
1-1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 pint sour cream
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Filling Ingredients:
1 cup ground nuts
1-1/2 cups dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons. flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients
together 3 times; add dry ingredients gradually to creamed mixture. Add sour cream and vanilla.

Mix mixture and swirl through batter. Pour into greased and floured angel food tube pan. Bake 55 to 70 minutes at 350 degrees until toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean

1/2 lb. margarine (2 sticks)
2 cups flour
2 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Powdered sugar
In a bowl, mix margarine and flour as for pie crust; add egg yolks, sour cream and vanilla mixing with a fork. With fingers, continue mixing to form a pliable dough. Cover bowl, set overnight in refrigerator. Next day, cut dough into 4 equal pieces. On floured cloth or hoard, roll each piece into an 8-inch square; divide into 2-inch squares; cut slits in centers - Either place squares on ungreased cookie sheets or over cupcake tins; upside down. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. (You may also roll dough thinner which would make wore pieces.)
